Silhill Updates

Good evening,

Here is your WMnow update for what has been going on in the Silhill area since our last message and what the team has been up to.

Crime Updates:

There was an attempted burglary on Warwick Road 

Unknown suspects climbed onto the roof to the rear of the property. They have then attempted to gain access by prying open a rear bedroom window.

The homeowner has heard a bang and disturbed the offenders who have then jumped off the roof and made off.

Two thefts of a motor vehicle was reported to us

Two offenders stole a Ford Transit Van from the car park of Solihull Hospital believed to be taken using a relay device. Later that day a Toyota RAV4 was stolen from the same location.

Also a Carrera bicycle was stolen from a communal area in Middlewood Close in an opportunistic theft.

Good News:

The team have made a number of arrests this week. We have locked up a wanted male for two very serious violent assaults following extensive enquires as well as two prolific shoplifters. Every week we try and send the message that offenders on our patch will be caught and will be seeing the inside of a cell.

The team ran a joint traffic operation with Smith’s Wood Neighbourhood team and West Midlands Force Traffic. We were out in force pulling over cars and tackling the issues raised to us by residents around speeding and drug dealing in the area. We have taken one car off the road and carried out stop searches tackling local offenders. We would like to thank our colleagues for assistance around this operation.

We were kindly invited to a community event over the past weekend at Olton Friary R C Church and spent a few hours with the local community offering advice and listening to some concerns raised to us. It was a valuable chance for us to sit down with local members of the community along with the local MP and councillors to address what matters to you.
